ROCK solid machine
Has distinct +/-'s:
VERY durable; very big and hefty
VERY reliable; don't like the ejection angle
VERY accurate*; rough trigger**
For a rock solid range or truck gun, the value can't be beat. Wouldn't ever try to CC one though. As to (functional) quality, durability, and reliability; it's up there with more expensive brands (ie GLOCK only has edge in size/weight/perhaps ergonomics etc); p89 even comes with some descent steel sights (>>GLOCK stock plastic).
Sorry, no information regarding specific date ranges, but whatever the year, I don't htink you can go wrong with a P89. Get back to us w/pics and range report, pronto!
*Could consistently get <3" groups with cci blazer aluminum no less, best groups (five shots from mid-mag) in 2" at 25 yards- MORE accurate than my G34 (slow fire from a rest), not as much action/game style shooting.
**As one who prefers "consistent" trigger type from 1st to last shot, I went with DAO version of the P89, which had (no joke) about a 25 pound trigger. The decocker model is much lighter, but still not great. Not smooth, lots of creep in SA.
