Options for Personal Security is proud to announce 'The Snubby Summit'.

The 'Snubby Summit' is a grand opportunity to learn from many unique and talented individuals about the ins & outs of the most carried gun in America…the Snubby Revolver.

Currently scheduled for the summit are Massad Ayoob, Jim Cirillo, Ed Lovette, Andy Stanford, Michael de Bethencourt, SouthNarc and others.

The Summit will include both lecture and livefire blocks, as well as a roundtable discussion on Saturday evening. Topics include 'The Snubby as a Second Gun', 'One Handed Reloading Techniques', 'Situational Awareness, a presentation by retired CIA case officer Ed Lovette', and many others.

Additionally, there will be opportunity for attendees to fire multiple courses of fire/qualification courses, including a unique course of fire, developed for this event, for the defensive snubby, throughout the weekend on one of the indoor ranges.

Vendors will be present as well, so there will plenty of 'snubby specific' gear and accessories available onsite.

This event will be held on 3 & 4 December 2005 at the American Police Hall of Fame located in Titusville, Florida. The APHF is an outstanding facility with a large, modern classroom and two state-of-the-art indoor ranges. It is located across the street from the Kennedy Space Center.

Cost for the event, including lunch both days and dinner on Saturday, is only $235.

Attendance is limited to the first 48 people and events are scheduled to allow each person to attend all of the blocks offered over the course of the weekend.

Registration will be handled through the OPS toll-free number 1.877.636.4677.

Sometimes, it feels like it, Chris! :what:

Was in Ohio last weekend, will be in Austin next month, the NTI after that & have classes every weekend in June....the proverbial chicken with its' head cut off. :D

I'm really looking forward to this Snubby Summit. It'll be the only chance I'll have to actually get to sit down with Cirillo & Lovette & Ayoob in the same spot and pick their brains about snubby minutia. de Bethencourt is a treasure trove of esoteric snubby knowledge, as well, besides being a Grade A lunatic.

I've even got Rusty Sherrick [www.c-rusty.com] making me a floral carved Berns-Martin Lightening inverted shoulder rig for an old-school Colt D-frame just so I can be stylin' at the Summit.

It's going to be a lot of fun.

Paul, I'll be calling tomorrow to reserve a slot. In the meantime, if you're overwhelmed by applicants, please hold a slot for me - or I'll do something horrible to you, like pray for a snubby malfunction! :D

Thanks.

Paul, I've been trying that number, and getting no reply. Is the office closed today, or should I try again tomorrow, after exorcising my telephone? :D

1.877.636.4677 is the right number. If no one was present, it should've gone to the company voicemail box.

Of course, it may be easier to email Chuck Helmke, the Operations Manager, directly. His email is [email protected].

See you in December!

Don't worry...I just heard that Tom Givens is giving a presentation on 'Why the snubby is dead" at the Summit. :what: Actually, his piece is going to be on how the new breed of compact semiautos are usurping some of the niche previously occupied by the snubby. Word is that Tom actually carries a minor caliber Kahr in an ankle rig these days!! :neener:

That sounds like a very cool seminar, Paul. What a great idea.

One of the those dark finish PM-9s at the two past NTIs. However, Farnham was carrying an Sc SW snubbie, so there!

The weekend sounds great but I have to work. Bah.

I've been alternating between my 642 and a PM-9 as a pocket gun. Just bought the latter. With Cabela's shorts and hiking pants, goes right into the big pockets.

Have a snubby class in Austin!

please offer a video

Paul:

I can't attend for several different reasons. Please consider video taping the lecture sessions and then offering copies to the larger shooting community for a fee. I would gladly pay $100.00 for a copy of these sessions. Sounds like you have a great training guests !!!

I'd love to make it but FL is a bit far. I had a nice talk with Tom about his improved ankle holster for his PM9 and took a couple points to heart.

Does a Taurus 617 count as a snubby? That is my main ccw. The seminar sounds like it will be very informative and fun.

Any short barrelled [3-inches or less] revolver qualifies as a snubby. I once knew a fellow who CCWd a S&W M629 round butt 2 1/4 .44 Magnum!! :what:

The Snubby Summit is less than a week away.:what:

If you have registered and not received a detailed information packet or a telephone call from Andy Stanford, please let me know ASAP.

I may be contacted via email to [email protected] or telephone at 225.921.5900

This event promises to be a unique gathering and I am looking forward to meeting many of you shortly.

Paul, quite frankly, I gave up on this deal some months ago. You know the problems I had in trying to register... well, when my check didn't get cashed, and I didn't hear any response after several e-mails, I gave up! You might want to improve the registration system, because I'm pretty disillusioned about the whole thing.

Not happy at all... :(

Sir,

Please accept my personal appology for your thoroughly unacceptable experience with attempting to register for the OPS Snubby Summit. I was assured by the person handling the registrations that everything was in order. I have since taken over this function.

Though I know this is really short notice now, I'd like to offer you a free slot in the Snubby Summit, or any future OPS training event. Again, sorry that the ball got dropped. Please email me at [email protected] and I'll send you my personal cell phone number.

Sincerely,

Andy Stanford,
Director, OPS.

Thanks for your reply, Mr. Stanford. I appreciate your courtesy and professionalism. I won't be able to attend this Snubby Summit, but I'll be in touch, and I hope to attend the next one (if there is one).

Your apology and offer demonstrate class, Mr. Stanford, and reflect well upon yourself, your operation and your partners.
