Been looking for a CZ 452 Ultra Lux, .22LR for about 6 months. Every time I heard about one, they were always already gone. Happened to be on the Buds site today and type it in on whim - WooHoo in stock! Despite promising myself no more guns after the P226 last week, no way was I going to let this get away. I don't want take a chance on waiting for the next shipment from Czech Republic

Now I just have to find a spot in the safe and some nice optics for for it.:)

Yeah, to heck with optics on a Trainer, Lux, or UL. The tangent sights are great and even better with a JP ghost ring....The stock drop is not the best for a scope, either.

Anyway, thanks for the heads up. I just ordered one. Been waiting 6 months for new ones to arrive. I sure watched a pile of used ones bring $450 or so during that time.

Congratulations! I suspect you're going to like it, especially with the open sights. IME, the other CZ models are often preferable with optics just because there's no need for the extra barrel length of the UL. That thing is looooong! :)

I have a Lux and love it. As mentioned, the irons are excellent. I have no plans to put any optics on mine. It is highly accurate. It is also extremely QUIET with subsonics out of the long barrel!

You're gonna fall in love with this rifle. Despite also being a fan of open sights, put the best glass you can afford on this one. Get a very fine cross hair because you will be able to hit a very small target. I use Remington Subsonics in mine but it will absolutely group anything and then just adjust your scope. Post back when you get it and let us know.

Ive got the ultra lux and love it.

Medium millet rings and a Leupold rimfire EFR scope. I can group wolf match at 50 yards at about a half in circle.

100 yards about the size of a quater.

VX-2 3-9x33mm Ultralight EFR is an amazing scope

With standard/match velocity .22 ammo the rifle sounds like it is suppressed. Soooooo quiet, hearing protection not required

I've wanted one of those for what seems ages, congrats. I think you'll really enjoy it. I love tangent sights, and would like to have a rimfire rifle that sported them, I think'd be entertaining to test them out to 300 meters, and see how well they hold over. The barrel length is great, I'm more partial to a very long sight radius, when it comes to shooting with irons. I'm glad to here the 452 isn't totally phased out by the 455.

The Brno Target Sights are a natural on the UL if you'll be target shooting.

Furncliff beat me to it. I've got BRNO apertures on my UL. With a good sling and ammo it likes, it's capable of doing respectably well on a 50 yard smallbore target.

WooHoo is right! Thanks for the notification, I picked one up too. I've been wanting one for years and every time I'm ready to get one I can't find one.

Good price too, $399. They have the trainer in stock too for $351 if anybody is interested.

No worries. I have a 452 FS myself; lovely little thing and I'm a big fan of the iron sights. Got that miniature Mauser look to it. I keep meaning to get a good brown leather sling for it too. My CZ's are my "pretty" guns.

The only thing I dont like about the gun is the crappy 10rd plastic mag that it comes with.

The 5 round steel mags are much better. I bought 2 by accident, so if someone needs one I have a spare for sale

i thought the 452 was being phased out and replaced by the 455.... maybe some UL's are still being made? or is this all still existing stock being rationed out from the factory?

The 452 is supposed to be phased out eventually. We have been hearing that for 5 years. They are still making about four models, though. I guess they will build them until they run out of parts. The phase out sure makes them sell like hotcakes.

There's nothing wrong with the plastic mags. I prefer them. They don't rust, dent when you drop them and are less likely to scratch your wood when you miss the hole....I bought a new Trainer recently and was disappointed when it came with a metal mag.

Joepmo;

Congratulations! You just bought your first CZ, but almost certainly not your last. It's an addiction and there's an enabler's ward over at triple double-yoo dot rimfire central dot com. Go to the CZ/BRNO section. I'd also suggest not putting glass on it because of the stock dimensions. Just make a 452 American your next purchase and put good optics on it, you'll be well rewarded.

I'm left handed & therefore the RH CZ's aren't of much interest to me, but I do have a Lux. Fine iron sights on it. I'm building my own Mannlicher stocked LHB at this time because I do like the look. You can just go buy one. And then there's the 452 American that's my primary varminter. It's got a Nikon Monarch 3.3-10X A/O mil-dot on it. And I can take little varmints at extended ranges with it. At one hundred yards it's a stone killer. But really, nothing out to 200 yards is truly safe, love those mil-dots!

I like the polymer mags, too. All of my 452s came with metal except one, and I prefer to USE that polymer one a little more than the metal. The metal has a better "quality" feel and I like handling it, but in use, all things considered, I just like the polymer a little better. (Lots of other CZ owners feel the same, I gather -- they admire the metal, but the polymer is great for actual use.) I'm not a big fan of the 10-rounder that came with the UL though, just because it's long enough to get in the way sometimes.

If you don't want that 10-rounder I'd be glad to take it off your hands. I've got six of them now & it wouldn't hurt to have another. I do a lot of varminting in a target-rich enviroment.

Can Furncliff or someone hook me up with the contact for the Brno target sights? I think it is Denny / Brno Man.
