I have been looking at several over-and-under shotguns and have a few questions. I have looked at the Stoeger Condor and the Mossberg Silver Reserve. Has anyone heard anything about these? My budget is $600-800, but I would like to stay around $500. I currently own a Remington model 1100 and an 11-87 as well as a Benelli Ultralight and I love them, I just really want an O/U. What would y'all recommend?

The Mossberg Silver Reserve is made by Huğlu, a well-respected shotgun maker in Turkey. They also produce CZ's line of shotguns. I've handled Huğlu U/O's in Istanbul. The quality of the wood, the finish on the stocks, and the fit of the action to the wood isn't the best. But the action and barrels seemed nice. Overall, it's significantly better than the Russian Baikals I've handled. More or less in the same league as Yildiz and Kahn.

As far as Turkish U/O's go, the ones made by Sarsilmaz and Uzümlü seem to be quite a big step up in quality (and price).

You may get more response by posting down in the Shotgun Forum. I do believe they were discussing the Mossberg SR a couple of weeks ago - might want to do a search on that term.
