Overhauled timing on my Uberti

I shot my Uberti 1861 navy out last weekend and had a blast. After cleaning it, I noticed the timing was a little sloppy. The bolt was dropping early and dragging, and full cock was engaging before the cylinder was done turning and locked.

Got a new bolt from VTI and a new hand from Dixie. The Dixie hand is so oversized it too a long time to fit it. The new bolt was malfuctioning and dropping even earlier than the old one, so I spread the bolt ears like I had read elsewhere.

Now the timing is perfect: the bolt drops in time, and full cock happens exactly when the cylinder locks, so you hear 3 perfectly spaced clicks, half cock, bolt dropping, full cock/cylinder locking.

It feels tight as a drum, can't wait to take it out again.

Hands are not drop in. They're long so you can fit them to your particular gun. Bolts sometimes need fitting also. The bolt should drop one full bolt width before the cylinder notch.

Totally understand parts have to be oversized to allow fitting. It feels like I took off a quarter inch off of that hand to fit it. Excellent quality though.
