My wife's new Sig P238 has a ambidextrous safety. She is right handed, when using the safety, the right side of it pinches/bites the skin. Anyone had this happen? Any way to fix or get rid of the right side lever?

Don't know why the safety could not be removed. Call C.S.at SIGARMS. Ask them, and they may be able to tell you on the phone. If not you might have to send it in. I have one without the ambi safety. They are nice little guns. I really like mine! When I can I plan to put nite sights & new grips on it.

Southpaw shooter with a first gen p238 without ambi safety. Never had an issue. I use a high grip too.

Sounds like you need a non ambi version or conversion if possible? Unless she changes her grip?

You can order the non-ambi safety and hammer pin.

Thumb Safety non-ambi part #1200749-R
Hammer Pin non-ambi part #1200743-R

Don't let the plunger and spring jump out or you'll have to order those too and Sig is a little pricey on their shipping.

I had the same problem with my P938. My skin was being pinched between the right ambi safety and the grip. I relieved the grip slightly to eliminate the pinching.

Be careful, the right grip holds a small pin in. If you remove too much of the grip to eliminate the pinch, as I did, the pin will come out to the right.

If you remove too much of the grip and the pin comes out, you can stake the pin in place on the right to prevent it from coming out.

I don't like ambi safeties on my carry 1911's and wii try to find a larger lever, one sided safety for my P238.
