Partner Drills

Until the last range trip ze wife has been very much against running drill because they simply "weren't fun." She sat there and plinked, or idly emptied mags, while cackling.
But somehow last range trip she had this epiphany. We did a standard "Ready! Up!" drill and some Rolling Thunder drills with our shotguns and she had a blast! (Pun intended.)

However, she made it very clear that the only reason she liked the drills was because they were partner drills. Two shooters on the line, if you will.

That being said, I'd love to run some more drills to improve both our shooting skills and have some fun. Seeing as I can not ever picture a competition allowing two shooters on the line at the same time, especially in the action shooting arena there really isn't that many solidified drill out there.

Can anyone think of some nice drill me and the wife could run?

I was thinking of a kind of modified El Presidente, where one takes turns shooting the targets while maintaining the constant cadence, or something along those lines. Any ideas here?

If you can manage it at your range . we do just a simple forward stop like we were just going on a walk and mr bg popped up draw fire two clear retreat.She likes skeet shooting to keeps her edge up with her sd shotgun.She also likes car drills that's where I push her in her wheelchair and come to a stop she acts like shes driving.she draws fires three clears and drives away.You both could do the same thing with a regular chair sitting on the range and someone to announce a stop while your both driving or riding .you could alternate shooting driver side passenger side if your driving and shes riding or vise versa

We mainly shoot at a quarry, so that won't be a problem. I'm just lambasting on about how awesome of a discipline it would be. the sitting thing sounds vastly fun, to be honest, but I don't feel like dragging chairs all the way up there. 8(

You can use a stump or log to sit on instead.Instead of dueling trees race to the center of pop cans.Or get out the 22 and buy some inflatable balls take turns throwing them down range and blastin them get two different colors though and count who gets the most hits. I got a five pack at wally world for 7 bucks and they don't weight anything.

get balloons and imitate a hostage situation see who kills the red balloon first. You don't have to spend a bunch of money on targets just find out what she likes to shoot.have a buddy come up and throw clays for you so you can play annie olke .simple version is two shooters on the line both get one shot. Person on the right gets first shot if they get the clay. The point is theirs if they miss person on the left gets a shot .If they hit point is theirs if both miss no points.we made this into a duel couples date out a few times .It's awesome to play at a family reunion also.
