Add 4 cap fulls of NuFinish car wax. Let it run a couple minutes before adding brass. Makes em shine purdy. No dust.

I wonder if the Lizard people have any clue that a bunch of crazy handloaders love their product for making their ammo shine! They probably could care less as long as we keep buying it I guess.
I'm sure they do. Check out the online reviews for the product on whatever website you order from; mostly lizard-less guys like us raving about clean our brass is
LOL, USSR is right there are guys posting how good it is. The very first one was a guy raving about how it made his brass shine
It will be the same with reloaders posting reviews for NuFinish as to how it helps polish the brass, leave residual polymer on the surface to maintain the shine/help with resizing effort and not get brass stuck in the dies. :D

True. I bet 80% of Nufinish sales are reloaders. I know I'd never bought any until I started handloading.

I used to use NuFinish to polish my cars in the 80's but switched to Zymol in the 90's.

It wasn't until someone on THR suggested using NuFinish as brass polish (was using Dillon/FA brass polish) that I tried NuFinish and I have not gone back.

For me, fine grit walnut media and NuFinish is like bread and butter for cleaning/polishing/protecting brass. :D

Ok, I went and bought the Kitty litter stuff the other day like I said I would, But the stuff (for me) was WAY to large. Soooo..... I threw it in the blender, well actually my wife did, it was her idea, and ground it down a little more, maybe too fine and dusty:uhoh:. It kinda worked, I used some brasso to treat. Not the nice shine Im used to with corn cob. Kinda dull. Skip that one.

So USSR, sorta prompted me to look further into the lizard stuff, found a bag of the desert stuff at petco and I am trying it right now. :D

I am gonna try the Nufinish stuff. I like to try different things and see what works out. You guys get the Nufinish at Walmart or Auto Zone? Probably go look tonight. I am assuming it is liquid not paste. Thanks guys.:D

Will do. I gave the cat litter to a friend with lots of cats, and ran the lizzard litter (corn cob) , works great so far. Much finer, can see how it would not get caught in flash holes. Its doing a fine job cleaning some 5.56 brass right now. Not near as dusty either.
Thanks for the advice guys. Can always learn a new (to me) trick. :D

I use a 70/30 mixture of crusted walnut shells and corn cob. Got them both at petsmart. I add a pre-missed mixture of car polish and mineral sprits. Small squirt. And a cut up dryer sheet. I actually use a new sheet instead of a used sheet. I know that is contrary to what you read on the forums. I don't really care about dust. There doesn't seem to be any and besides I run my cleaner in the garage. New sheets seem to leave a very faint film on the brass and seems to have a lubricating effect.

I use a vibratory cleaner, not a tumbler. I believe they are two different things.

When I add the polish/mineral sprits mixture I let the vibratory cleaner run about 15 minutes to let it evenly distribute before adding the brass and dryer sheet.

I don't de-prime before cleaning my brass so there is no problem with media sticking in the primer pockets.

My vibratory cleaner runs on a pre-set time for 3.5 hours.

The purpose for used dryer sheets is to trap black fouling that "dirty up" the media, not necessarily for dust, which extends the life of the media like adding mineral spirits when media gets dirty.

If you are already using car polish, adding new dryer sheet is redundant and adding extra cost. Besides, I am not sure if I want to add any lubricant to the media that may make the inside of the brass case slicker to decrease neck tension (not that may be the case here as I have not tested that theory). IME, use of NuFinish liquid polish has not resulted in decreased neck tension as tested on my reloads as I experience zero to minimal (less than .002" - .003") neck tension with most jacketed/plated/lead bullets I have used.

And I thought you were supposed to add mineral spirits after the media got dirty to freshen it up so as to extend the media replacement frequency?
