I must buy something :D

Requirements:

9mm, concealable, under $500ish. (like, I might go $550, but not $800).

I have a Kahr PM9, a Sig P239, and a Glock 17.

Oh, and when I say concealable, keep in mind I'm 5'6" and 145#.

GO :D

Glock 19? CZ P-01?

If you're willing to go used, you might could scare up a SIG P-228/229 or an HK USP-9c...

I like my Glock, but the 19 is essentially the same gun. I have been checking out the CZ's, they look pretty sweet.

I'm willing to go used, if I can find decent stuff used. Around here, all I see is used guns at new prices. The last USPc I saw used was priced at $700 :uhoh:

I carry a Glock 19, and I'm pretty close to your heigth and build. So I'd say go with a G19, maybe look into a Walther P99.

I'm about the same size as you, I have a Glock 19 that conceals very well. That being said, I also like the STI LS & BLS, to stay close to your price range you would have to get a used one. They are small and thin like the Kahr, very nice for CCW. Worth considering.

What is and is not concealable tends to vary, some people claim they can only carry little .25's, others will do what it takes to carry a 1911 GM. Your Kahr is one of the best carry guns around, so I'm offering picks of all sizes. You should buy something that fits your hand, then worry where to hide it. Stretch your budget by buying from out of state dealer and finding a ffl to do the transfer. You can save $75 to $100, more if your local shops are rip of joints.

Some suggestions, and recent sale prices (some may not be in stock) CDNN is not Canadian $. All the prices are less shipping and dealer transfer fees. Not an offer to sell. If you want prices on anything else, or variant not listed, just ask.

Looks like your are missing CZomething from your collection. I will second what Tamara said about the P-01, or if you don't care for accessory rails, check out the PCR.

How do you like the guns you have? Are their features you like or dislike that you'd like to avoid for this next gun?
Just to get the ball rolling, I'd second a used USPc 9 :)

There's been a lot of talk here recently about the RAP 401. I don't know much about these, myself. They're heavy, but have been getting good reviews.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I'm going to try to check out at least a couple of them this weekend.

Good question. I like a take down level a LOT more than a take down pin, makes disassembly a lot easier, which is a big deal when you shoot and clean every weekend. The Glock 17 really doesn't fit my hands, but it's a very early model (legally holds 19+1 rounds) without the finger grooves, so that may be a factor. The Kahr grip is a little smallish, but ok. The Sig with Hogues fits me perfect, and I seem to shoot it more than all the other combined.

HK USP C 9mm
Walther P99 - a great gun - High caps are readily available
Baby Eagle Compact in 9mm

All are great guns, the Baby Eagle is only $400, the Walther is about $500, the HK about $600

Well put 10-ring!

Mikel, is the Kahr grip too short or to small around ? I have huge hands, and while can't get all my fingers on the K40 grip, the trigger reach (the most important part) is ok. Is it the dangling pinky you don't like? Guns with grips than cover the backstrap can usually have their grips reduced forw/aft while guns with grip panels that don't can sometimes be reduced in width. How do you feel about trigger action? DAO, DA/SA, Single action? What about a safety/decocker? Are you going to spend money looking for standard capacity magazines vs. 10 rounders. If not, single stack may be the way to go.

Just some points to ponder.

New in Box SIG 225 $525
Hard to find new,not very much bigger than 239, only able to find the one

SW3953 TSW $498.50
About same size as your SIG but grip is shorter.

Dave - Just slightly too short, but no big deal. I think I will probably buy a couple of mag extensions with the finger rest. The factory extended mag actually fits me quite comfortably, but a finger groove would be better.

I don't have a preference to action type that would make me rule out a gun. In other words, I prefer DA/SA to DAO, but I do own DAO guns, so it's not that big of a deal.

Right now, I think I'm most strongly considering a Springfield XD Subcompact 9mm, but I can't find one locally to even hold. If it fits as well as the 4" XD does, I will probably have to buy one.

Any more suggestions to check out? I'm kinda biding my time untill the next gun show hits town. I've been keeping my eyes open for a used USPc, but I can't find one for much less than new prices. Still can't find a dealer with a XD-9 Subcompact in stock, I'll take a chance on buying a high demand gun without shooting it, but not without even holding it.
