I got this CZ 452 Lux today. It's .22LR with a 25" barrel. I've got a Turner All-Weather Sling on it. I got a target from the factory with a 1.2" 5 shot group at 50 meters.:uhoh: Hopefully I can do a little better with it tomorrow at the range. This is a very well-made rifle. The fit and finish is amazing for under $300.

It has what appear to be relief cuts for the firing pin. It's okay to dry fire this, right?

The CZ test target is not really a testament to the accuracy potential of the rifle - more of a function test. I have never heard of anyone on the CZ forums over at rimfirecentral.com who could not easily exceed the "accuracy" of their factory test target.

I own a CZ Special , now called a Trainer which has the stock style like your Lux and just this year picked up an American. Also owned a Lux in 22 mag which had one of the nicest stocks I ever saw on a Lux. Not hard to beat the test target with any of them.

Those CZ452s are very addictive. Congrats.

If you're interested, you can really sweeten your 452 up with a Brooks trigger kit and/or a ghost ring sight which simply replaces the stock sight blade. Both are relatively inexpensive, easy to install and available from cz452.com (though I've heard mixed reports about getting your stuff from them in a timely manner). The trigger kit is (or used to be) available from whittakerguns.com as well. You might call them to see if they sell the ghost ring. Hop over to rimfirecentral for more info.

I shot it today. My best group was 1.25" at 50 yards off the bench with 36gr Remington bulk ammo. I'm sure I'd do better with a scope and match ammo but I'm pretty happy with this gun. It's very elegant and well put together. I got it from a local gun shop by the way.

Don't mind the factor test target. It's about as useful in showing how well the gun will shoot as using super glue as a lubricant.

1¼" at 50 yds with the open sights and bulk ammo is pretty darn good. You will not be disappointed when scoped and fed correctly with the right diet.

To be more accurate, it is known as the Training Rifle.

I got one of the training rifles last year and it is now my favorite rifle. The wood was nicer than most of my more expensive rifles and the way it shoulders and balances taught me how a rifle is supposed to fit. It also is a real laser beam- I'd love to scope it and see just what it will do, but I like the sights too much! Enjoy!

I got a Training Rifle a few months ago. Shoots to the right and I've moved the rear sight pretty far left. My friend suggested checking if the stock rubbed. I could slip a $ bill on the right but the left was tight. So, I did some sanding, but I think I need to do some more.:(

Anyone else have this problem? I love to shoot it, but this is annoying to have out of the box.

Thanks for the warranty suggestion. Didn't occur to me. I emailed their gunsmith.
