Picking up a Ruger SR9

I'm buying a SR9 Monday. I love the ergos. I also shot one and did really well. My only concern is Durability. The slide and barrel are cast. I also know some of the barrels have had peening issues. I plan on shooting it quite a bit, thoughts?

My SR9c is holding up great after about 4,000 rounds. Seems to be pretty damn durable. It did seem to peen at first, but only while I was breaking it in, and now the action is smooth as glass. much smoother than my Glock. Since you have a couple glocks though, have you tried a new gen 4 Glock 17, or 34? ergos are a bit better.

I've got an SR9 on the way also.Feel like a kid at christmas.
They finally got one in at the LGS, so i had them put it back for me.
While i was filling out paper work a guy asked if i was selling it. Told him i was buying it cause i've heard good things about it. He said he got one and loved it,asked me if i wanted to shoot his.He didn't have to say it twice. Shoots very nice,can't wait to get mine.
