I posted a thread a few days ago of my range report of my new S&W 1911PD. I replace the stock grips, screws and studs with a thin grip kit from Fusion Firearms. The thin grips are amazing as the stock grips were really LARGE. The pics are terrible and really washed out the nice grain of the grips so I'll try to get some nice pics of the grips later.

Just today a got a fantastic holster that I want to tell everyone about. The holster is made by Monica Kuehn and is the HRP for Colt Commander in Java Brown. I bought it on Ebay but I had read some post by Monica on another gun forum and thought it was worth the risk. I paid 50 bucks for it. I received it today and I just wasn't prepared for what a quality piece of work this holster is. I own a bunch of holster: DeSantis, Galco, Tucker, Bianchi and a few others but this is by far the best craftsmanship I have seen in an unlined holster. The pics make the finish look blotchy but in real life it is really a beautifully mottled brown that is much more uniform than the pictures came out...it doesn't even look like the same holster in the pics. The quality of the stitching, leather and molding of the leather is quite impressive. And what a value! Its truly under priced.

Ok here's some pics

Steve, that's a nice set you have there. Stay in touch and let me know how the holster works for you. As always, I'm all ears :)

Beautiful combination. It doesn't get much better.

I've always wanted a LW Commander, but after seeing your pictures of the PD I may have to break my 1911 brand loyalty.

Here's a pic of the Afzelia thin grips I made for the PD. The camera just doesn't do these grips justice...the depth and beauty of this wood is just amazing. I'll have to modify them as soon as I get the gun back from being Bobtailed!
