I am thinking about getting a Springer EMP 9mm. Anyone who owns one....can you give me your evaluation and/or issues with this gun? Thanks

I don't own one, but I sure wish I did. My uncle has one, so I got to shoot it, and it's wonderful. He did have an issue that required he send it back to Springfield. The slide wouldn't lock back after the last shot. But they fixed it no problem. It's got a great trigger, nice looks, and an overall high-quality feel. If I had the money, I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

EMP

I got the EMP in 9mm that was made in 2009 and its honestly the finest gun I have ever bought! The reliability, accuracy, looks and ergonomics are top notch! They are pricey, specially for a 9mm, but to me, well worth the cost, and never regreted for a moment purchasing it!! There is ONE downside for the gun, and thats I never seem to find enough time to shoot it as much as I'd like!

great little carry gun.
people complain about the price, but it's on par with the build quality of other 1911's in that price range. I've had my EMP for a few years now, and only had an initial issue with the extractor being too tight, which i fixed at the range after 50 rounds. Feed's everything that i use, but i tried some SXT 127gr +P+ and it didn't like those.

How can so

many good looking Springfield products come from such an anti-gun, anti-business state. Boggles my mind. Highest corporate income tax in the US!!
Rant Off. ;)

To some extent I trust my life to one.....I carry it as a backup to my duty sidearm. I've had it for about two years now and I love it more now than the day I bought it. Best part is it makes my fellow officers pretty jealous at the range :)

This was the carry gun I lusted after for a long time. After finally getting my hands on it and getting to the range with some of my other 9mms to compare it against I found the EMP reliable, accurate, nice to shoot, essentially a 1911 in many respects and I like 1911s. It was a gun I liked. I also found it didn't do much I couldn't do with some of my others 9mms many of which cost a lot less.

It is a good gun, nice, spendy (to some folks and vis a vis other available 9mms) gun. If you like 1911s and have the money there is no reason not to own one. I doubt I'll spend the money to do it any time soon but a part of me really lusts after an EMP that has been through the custom shop and made just to my liking.

Fantastic gun. Can't think of any better way to describe it. Great build quality, great trigger (mine has had a trigger job, though), reliable, very easy to shoot well.

As a downside, it's not as slim as the Kahr's.

...

I got an early one, when they first came out - what, 2yrs ago..?

It's still my favorite, point and shoot 9+1 SAO 1911 3" little tack-driver..

Just over 7k and the joy grows each range trip..

SA's CS is just as good along with the lifetime, no ask, warranty, which says a lot about SA's belief in this gun, and their others.. even IF you sell, the warranty goes with the gun..

Outstanding,

Ls

Mine runs like a top. SA did have to enlarge the chamber first though. Early 3 digit gun.

Mine shot great from the get go. I love it's ergonamics, accuracy and reliability. I'm particularly pleased that it devours all of my lead reloads which saves tons of bucks at the range. Dennis
