Poachers hunt another species into extinction

KodiakBeer: the most important animal to come over recently into america IIRC was the bison. It is not surprising that many of the current big game animals are recent arrivals. These are animals that were able to survive being in contact with man and as you suggested changes in the environment. It is interesting that Africa did keep it megafauna for a long time and perhaps it was sort of as you suggested because the ice age impacted less over there.

That is apparently a true story, but there is no evidence that any of the poisoned rhinos have been taken and that anyone has died as a result. Cool idea though.

lmao off course it is a true story and no evidence of any deaths is exactly what makes it so briliant. I can assure you that some poisened horns have been poached , and chances are good that a few smucks somewhere in the "east" died of "food poisoning" :neener: like I said , we have had no complaints yet :D

Okay, you can claim that, but then again there isn't any evidence that is reported.

One thing is certain. It hasn't had any sort afforded and deterrent value and so the program isn't actually showing any success so far.

We Americans generally believe in the rule of law for the common good. That doesn't apply in many other cultures and seems to be a trend here as well, more lawlessness, self interest and anarchy.

I believe poachers that hunt endangered animals should themselves be hunted by individuals skilled in that kind of hunt... I have absolutely no sympathy for people that do this. Simultaneously laws need to be passed that allow aggressive destruction of the illegal market that keeps the demand up. Unless governments get serious about stopping it and employ this strategy, it won't stop. The market is too great. I've seen how they try to stop it, but they don't have the training or the skills to go after poachers, and the illegal market is always one step ahead of the Keystone cops that are trying to break it up.

This just disgusts me. Chances are they can be repopulated (by zoos) but until the political climate changes in those regions where these animals are from, there isn't a point in it.
