Doesn't make him any less deserving of due process, though.
Kind of.... He was wanted for "armed robbery" and "assult" with a current "assult" charge already in the system. Armed robbery means when the cops enter they needed to be 100x more prepared for a weapon present than just "this kid stold a PS3 and rode away on his bicycle."

Now if they had the wrong dorm room........ :p

but may have been holding a video game controller when he went to the door

If he had a GunCon or similar controller, it's possible that the police may have mistaken it for a real handgun.

I have a Scorpion 2 that looks almost identical to a PPK, with the only real differences being a moulded "comfort" grip, a built in laser, and obviously, the mess of cables hanging from the butt.

Ever feel like these brave public servants should have their Glocks replaced with Liberator pistols?

Sometimes I wish that they had to follow the exact same laws as other citizens. (I'd rather not hijack this into a cop-bashing thread, so I'll stop there)

Here's your victim. He's the one in the middle.

Those guys should be in Xavier's Fools with Guns collection.

Now, let's see, an AR-15, shotgun w/extended mag and two pistols AND he had a previous charge. I'd say the police should have been careful...

I would say the lesson to be learned here is that if you want to play pretend gangsta thug...do not expect law enforcement to appreciate the joke.

dads a lawyer

wonder how many times dad got him off before. and if maybe being held accountable earlier woulda saved him

That's not him you dumb ****s. I don't even know any of the guys in that picture. Peyton was a friend of mine and he wasn't a "pretend gangsta thug". He was a great guy, loved by so many people, but obviously he made a stupid decision robbing some kid. I know for a fact he is not stupid enough to answer the door with a gun in his hand. His dad is a very good lawyer, I hope justice is served.

Right, when he committed robbery he became a "real gangsta thug".

(yes I edited out some of this...I might have gone a bit far. I still think it, I just won't leave it up here)

I'll just point out that a lot of folks are asking us to keep an open mind about the LEO's actions while simultaneously judging that the dead teenager was a justifiable target thanks to 1 charge of which no one here has specific knowledge, and a pending arrest. Curious.

Questions:
1. If it takes an emergency response team to take down an allegedly video game stealing college student, what are regular uniformed police for, exactly?
2. Were any weapons recovered from the apartment?
3. Was a weapon used in either of the alleged incidents?
4. How does the sheriff 'fear for the safety' for members of "an elite emergency response team"? Is he expecting the other students to put out a hit on them? And wouldn't they be the best prepared people to deal with a threat?
5. What's the standard rule of engagement regarding a weapon during a forced entry? Confirm it's a weapon? Suspect that a suspect is drawing/aiming any sort of weapon? Rapid hand movement?

Troll? Are you kidding me? Someone told me people were talking about Peyton on this site and I opened this thread to see people calling him a "pretend gangsta thug" and people saying they were "glad he was shot". Not to mention people finding some fake ass picture and claiming it as him.

Outlaws I don't give a **** what you think. Think what you want about situation, I'm not the one who will be judging you when its all said and done.

junyo,
I personally would like to see laws enacted that offer teh death penalty for theives. You steal a mans horse 100 years ago, you got hanged. You steal a car now and you get a slap on the wrist. There was much less crime back then -vs- now.

That's because people knew back then the consquences of there actions... hence, accountability. We've lost that all together in the good ol USA.

Right, and now a days there is no accountability because there is no punishment. Its boils down to risk assessment. Currently the reward is worth the risk.

Daniel, Outlaws isn't the troll, thb22 is. A one-post newbie doing posing and using psuedoprofanity at members here? Troll.

As for the police, wait for the investigation to see what's going on!

As for thieves:

He was a great guy, loved by so many people, but obviously he made a stupid decision robbing some kid.

People will generally not hand over a $600 item unless they feel their life is in danger from an attacking robber. In which case, they are justified in using lethal force to stop the robbery. If the cops hadn't gotten him, if he did do it, then someone else eventually would have. I can honestly tell you that if I was carrying a new PS3 and someone came up, threatened me, and said "Give me that,", they'd be on the wrong end of a .45 in less than a second. Deal with it. Actions, consequences, right, wrong.

Without debating crime and appropriate punishments, there's a difference between administering justice, no matter how draconian, and wishing evil upon someone. It's possible to disapprove without animosity.

What, you think I'm lying about being his friend? I dont even know what this site is all about. I just saw people talking about it here and felt the need to post when someone said they were "glad" my friend died and they hoped he burned in hell, then someone else posted a fake picture and said it was him,

I'm having a hard time mustering up any sympathy for any adult who would attack another over a videogame, regardless of cost.I'm sorry the cops had to shoot him but can't muster up much for him, hope he enjoyed whatever profit he turned or had a great time playing with the thing.
