This is, what, the four hundred and seventy eighth report of his death? When there's something more than "Officials think that the latest one is bogus" let me know.

Tellner, you've been counting ??? Bring me his head , then and only then will I believe it !!

OBL dead would be a Good Thing, but I fear that there will always be an Emmanuel Goldstein.

Biker

the Saudis had received confirmation that bin Laden died of typhoid in Pakistan on August 23. He also noted that rumors of the al Qaeda leader's demise circulate every few months. The report in L'Est Republicain said the Saudi secret service first got the reports of bin Laden's death on September 4.

Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden has a water-borne illness,

How bout that. Pakistan announces they will not arrest bin laden on Sept 4th. We predicted he must be ill and needs hospitalization.

"El diablo verdadero" meets allah who promptly sends him to hell, if this is true.

To celebrate his death only legitimizes martyrdom for nothing more than a murdering criminal scum that stood for no religious, moral or ethical teachings. Instead, We should consider a moment of silence for his innocent victims.

OBL is worth more to us alive than dead.........

if he is alive, we will always have at least half a chance to keep our military strong and defend ourself......

but if he is dead, can you imagine what the democratic president will do to our military and the war on terrorism in '08?

OBL's death will not affect Al Quaida or their operations against us and the rest of the world even remotely. They will not even slow down. They have several people waiting to take over the reigns, and some of them pretty much operate on their own anyway.

This will not be an issue for us at all except for the publicity. The terrorist attempts and attacks will not be affected in the slightest.

Jerry's right about the affect it will have on our side, however. If anything, OBL's death would give Al Quaida the advantage.

OBL's probably not been a significant factor in Al-Q ops in years. If anything, he's an Al-Q figurehead and boogeyman, useful to several parties for several reasons.

Nonetheless, I look forward to the unvieling of the OBL alcove in the Hall of Heads.

Oh, wait!

We don't have a Hall of Heads somewhere in the Capitol?

Sounds like a job for the Senate Appropriations Comittee to me.

Understandable, if its true, as to why they havent broadcast it.

If we had killed him, he would be a martyr. As typhus has killed him, to the religious types that see meaning in anything and everything, it might point to someone considerably more important than any mortal having done the deed :D :D

Well if he dies of a disease then his death will have much less value as a terrorist recruiting tool.

If we had killed him within a few months of 9/11 then it would have made the US look strong as it would appear that we can get to anyone. Now it really wouldn't mean much.
