I do, too.
Haven't shot much last three years due to expense and lack of components. I had have, but conserved what I had.
I've shot several matches in the S.C. league. Shot my first 1480+ in four years. Been longer than that since I had some HP38/Win231.
It's been so expensive to travel, stay overnight, pay entry fees, and ammo, It's cheaper to just buy any guns I would win, stay home and shoot!

But I do enjoy shooting the sophisticated hardware. The PPC-9s, 5906PC, and Revolvers are a delight to be able to call the shots.

I'm registered to shoot the first CMP match at the new Talladega facility. It's only ~75mi from my house. Gotta get a M1 service grade. I inherited my brothers match M1. It's too "right" to return to service grade for Garand matches. It shoots near moa with match ammo. I plan to shoot high power matches with it. Looks like I'll be returning to my roots with formal "bullseye" shooting. Also have a "hardball" suitable M1911.

Looking forward to expansion of activities at CMP Talladega.

Around here the PPC matches are limited to LE only , thus discouroging wider participation by more shooters .

I have a safe queen that's a 6PPC. I had it built for when WCW in Bothell ran their winter 100 yard prone matches. The rifle was finished during the summer and I worked up a load for it, then I put it back in the safe to wait for winter to roll around. Come winter time, people decided that the turn-outs were to small and they weren't going to bother with them anymore.

So now I have a great shooting rifle that never leaves the safe. I've shot at plantation a couple of times if that's where you mean and enjoyed it. There are some fantastic prone shooters locally that frequent those matches.

I don't shoot PPC as an exact definition but I shoot "police combat matches" as part of the Illinois Police Association.

Our matches consist of shooting from kneeling, barricade, etc. we shoot a 48 round match. I would be happy to share details if anyone wants to hear.

I like shooting Ppc it was a quail course we
Had to shoot and scored on it I have
Not seen it offered to civilians in my neck
Of the woods I would be interested in it

My club has a PPC range (though it's been renamed the "general purpose range" as it's also now used for .22 silhouette matches and other things). Our former Chief Range Officer, a 30+ year retired LEO, used to be the PPC National Champion and still runs the matches we have. Non-LEOs can participate; their scores just aren't turned in.

Sure would. I am interested in the variations in courses of fire.

Like I was saying Nathan, we shoot a 48 round combat match. It consists if four different courses of fire.

•at the seven yard line you load with six rounds(auto or revolver doesn't matter) and reholster. When the targets turn you have 25 seconds to draw, fire six shots, reload, and fire six more.

•at the fifteen yard line you do the exact same thing as above.

•at 25 yards you load with six and reholster. You have 90 seconds total for this stage. When the targets turn you drop to your knees and fire six shots. Then you must stand up and reload and fire six shots left handed from behind a barricade(we use a large post). Then you reload again and fire six shots right handed from behind the barricade.

•the last stage is simply draw from holster and fire six shots in 12 seconds at 25 yards.

These are all shot on a B27 target.
