Praise for the CZ P01

How much do the P01s usually sell for? Is there anything about the P01 that's better than the CZ-75 Compact?

Mike at CZ told me they were supposed to be bringing in the CZ-75 Compact in .40 sometime next year... sigh... (when???) Since the mags are limited in capacity in the compact, the .40 sounds appealing.

Steve.....the P01 has an alloy frame so it is lighter, and has an accessory rail, the PCR is the same gun, alloy frame no rail, there are factory 14 round mags available for the 9mm so no capacity limit in any of the smaller cz guns.......I paid $409.00 for my PCR, today I saw a P01 at a local shop here for $429.00......tom

I guess P-01's normally go for about $400-$450. The main differences between the P-01 and the CZ Compact are that the P-01 has an alloy frame so is lighter, has a decocker instead of a safety so can't be carried cocked and locked, and has the integral accessory rail. I actually prefer the PCR over the other compact CZ's slightly, as it is very similar to the P-01 but is easier to conceal without the accessory rail which I wouldn't use anyway. Also, as I mentioned earlier in this thread, .40 cal mags are available from Promag that fit these guns and hold 14 rounds of 9mm.

LOL, tom beat me...
BTW, I got my PCR for $390 from my local shop

nonquixote is right, I always forget that the compact has the cocked and locked capability, that can be a plus to some;).......btw, I bought my third cz today, a cz40, when I stopped into my local shop they had just gotten 10 of them in, $269.00, I couldn't resist:rolleyes: ....they sold eight of them today as of 3pm. So let's see, a pcr, a 75b, and a cz40, gotta get that kadet kit next, then when the RAMI comes out....HELP!!!!!......tom

Luckily, (?) my shop hasn't had the CZ40 in stock lately, or I might find it hard to pass up as well. I'm also probably going to get the Kadet kit soon, but I'm not really wowed by the RAMI, I don't prefer subcompact pistols. If they finally release a CZ Compact or PCR in .40 however...

Nonq......I like to keep a small gun or two around, the pcr displaced my glock 19 and I sold it. I'm wondering if the RAMI can do the same to my glock 27. I still like my kahr mk9 for extra small carry gun, but these cz guns have beat out glocks and, dare I say it, even sigs for me. I can't say enough good things about them;) .....tom

Tomkatz,
I am like you and the CZ taking over the Sig's, I too am liking my CZ P-01 more than my Sig P228, and since I have a PCR on order I figure that the regular 75b or Tactical will be next.

Jim

I can't say enough about them either. Although I'm fairly new to CZs almost all my range time in the last 6 months has been using my PCR and 97B, about 4000 rounds worth total. My other guns have become gunsafe ballast. The fit and finish are very good, I think they are great looking guns, and while some others feel just about as good to grip, usually at a much higher price, none have felt better to me. Yeah, I'm hooked.

I have a P-225 and a CZ-75BD.
For what it is worth, the CZ will work with ammo that the SIG misfires with.
;)

Shot my PCR today (250 rnds) and I like it better every time I take it to the range. The more I shoot it the slicker it gets. It's the only gun I would consider replacing my CCW Kimber Custom Defender with. I also have a CZ-75BD 9mm, a CZ-75B .40 S&W, and a CZ-83 .380 ACP. They all eat anything I feed them and are very accurate. You can spend more money on a gun, but you won't get more gun for your money.
