Excuse the clutter but here is the story

I guess it was in early April when I noticed a post touting a new reloading press one of our members had designed. I was curious and began corresponding with Glenn about this press. Interested in what he had to say about the machining and design I decided to give it a try so I ordered one from him. He asked me to put it through its paces and review it so here goes:
(and no, I did not get the press for a discounted rate in exchange for a positive review, Glenn has not had a chance to review this review and in all honesty I have not talked to him in about a month)

The press is very solid and well designed. It has almost no play in the rams; they were milled to very tight tolerances. The compact nature of this press allows for it to be packed up in a case and taken out to the range or the field for load development on the shooting bench (or to resupply after some vigorous p-doggin). One of the key deciding factors for me was the double die single stage design of the press. It allows the user to set up and load without changing dies. Additionally, the press provides a larger opening for ease of loading magnum rifle cartridges with Redding competition dies. I have built some very concentric and extremely accurate ammunition using this press.

It does have a down side, however. There is no spent primer catch pan. This can be overcome by simply placing a finger over the ejection port to prevent the primer from falling on the floor and transferring the spent primer to the trash. Additionally for those who prefer to prime on the press there is no option for this. I usually hand prime so this was not an issue for me.

Last I spoke with Glenn, he said he had changed the press cosmetically and chamfered the edges on the new model of the press. I additionally spoke to him about the primer catch issue and we discussed the idea of locating the ejection port further down the ram. I am in the process of trying to figure out a way to retrofit the press with a plastic catch pan for the spent primers.

This is a truly rigid and well designed system despite the primer shortfall. I intend to buy another press from Glenn. If anyone is considering a press upgrade I would suggest you contact Glenn, I’m sure he can accommodate you.

Back a few years ago there was a fellow that designed and made presses of the same basic design for Benchrest shooters. It became pretty popular. I assume he is still making them. I don't remember his name. (Hood maybe?)

Nope, Harrells, but the left post is smaller and set up for a hand seater die like Wilson or Niel Jones.

Looks like a handy little press Glennster.
