Here Walmart is selling them for $197 last time I looked, although I noticed the one about an hour away had gone up to either $207 or $217 or something, I can't remember which. Anyway, it seems like people in this area are asking $200 for used ones, so you are usually better off just getting it new. It seems like if someone prices one at $180 or so, it goes insanely quick, and it's not that much off of the price of a new one. Used 10/22 prices are crazy, especially if they have the older metal trigger guard.
Thats only a "great deal" if the scope is worth over 50 bucks and the rifle is in immaculate shape....otherwise new would be the way to go. Also, Walmart has a version of the 10/22 thats stainless and has a longer barrel that many people are fond of. walmart is the only place to get that particular model unless you happen across a used one. I'd give maybe $175 for a used 10/22, and no more, considering a new one can be had for only $25 more
I see the ones for $250 used with a cheap $30 scope all of the time, but honestly, they never seem to sell so I don't think we can say that's what they go for.
The plain-vanilla 10/22's at Dick's typically go on sale for $199 during the fall (and Dick's often includes the $10/$20/$30 off depending on how much you spend). I'm wondering how much better a used 10/22 can get.
Speaking of the more current 10/22's with the polymer trigger guard -- did I just luck out, or do the newer ones have a smoother trigger out of the box than the older ones?
Most of the ones I see around here are around $200 or more. Walmart has blued ones for $217 and SS for around $250.
I bought a used one at the last gun show we had for $185. The guy had it priced at over $200 and I offered $175. We settled for $185 out the door. It was blued with wood stock and in great shape.
Maybe it is just around here, but I have seen the "old" 10/22's (pre 2007/08??) going for more than new, usually around $250+ on the local sites. Maybe it's because I have heard a lot of people got upset when Ruger started making the receiver and barrel with the matte finish and more plastic parts and have heard quoted as lesser quality in the new ones, I have no experience with the new model so I can only tell what I have read/heard.
I was shocked when someone offered me $300 for my stock 93' 10/22 at the range a few months ago. He said he has been looking for an older model in good condition, and keeps getting outbid on gun broker on the deals that do come up... strange, I guess some people are paying a premium for some of the older ones... I still passed on the offer and told him they are out there for much cheaper than what he offered.
Ya the "great deal" was supposed to be sarcastic. The scope cant be much more than $30 and even if they're in great shape they're still used. They've been there for months and don't even seem to get moved between times I'm in there. I wouldn't pay more than $150
i bought one in july used but like new for 225 it came with a folding stock scope 2 30 rd mags and case took it out once then traded it for a gun i later sold for 350
I have a 10/22 with 3x9 scope in excellent condition made in 1970. Only mod is it is drilled and tapped for a Williams peep sight. (In case anyone wants to make an offer. )
