I'm curious how many of you guys have small pistol primers backordered at Grafs and how long you have been waiting. In the next couple months I'd like to put in an order for 20-25K, to spread the hazmat, but I don't know if there is much point in doing so. If I order that many will they fill the order all at once so I don't get hit with multiple hazmats?

Any of you waiting on orders from Grafs?

Thanks,
Chris

I have checked Graf's website almost daily since Obama was elected and I have never seen any primers in stock besides shotgun primers and muzzleloader caps. It also seems like they are out of EVERYTHING I need.

Just my .02,

Iscream place your order with Grafs. CCI primers have been flowing pretty good for the last 4 months. Do not count on Federal primers. Look at Wolf or Mag Tech too.
Leon the reason you never see things listed is they fill back orders with arrving stock.

Same here for the most part. I bought 10,000 CCI 500 from Powder Valley in February, just before all this mess started. I still have about 8500 and that will last me a good year, even when I start loading 9mm on top of my 38 Special. I would just like to stock up a little in case their prices actually rise. Not too many shops seem to have the prices Grafs is offering...

Thanks. CCI is what I use for 38 Special so that's what I'll use when I cook up a 9mm load. Do you have any idea if they will make sure to fill an order for 20K or so at once so there will only be one hazmat?

I placed my order for Federal LP & SP with Grafs and my primers showed up about 4-6 weeks later. Unfortunately I'm down to 6k of the LP and need to reorder. Hope they are still only 4-6 weeks out.

I just looked in grafts and they have NO primmers..not in small rifle or large rifle. All out of stock.. unless u want Mag primmer from wolf.in small rifle.

Im glad i bought a few grand of small rifleprimers. this past summer...

and the powder I want is out of stock also. H 235,Bass pro had that last week for 24 bucks,

I ordered 5k CCI SP and 5k CCI LP primers back in May. They have not shown up yet. I have confirmed that my order is still in the queue.

Been in line here for CCI SPP's since July. But this time I'm in no rush. I learned my lesson last time :D

Ordered 10,000 CCI primers in June-no show as yet. Called early this month, and the girl could not give me an estimate of arrival. I think everyone is going for the cheap CCI primers

Know this doesn't help and not rubbing it in, but why so set on Graf's?

Saw CCI 500's available at powder valley day or two before Christmas, ordered 5k, received notice they shipped monday and due to arrive tomorrow according to tracking.

Wideners also has regular re-stocks of Wolf primers, which I have and use in my mil-spec pieces. I prefer softer cups in my strikers/minis like the LCP. They recently even had Federal SP mag primers in stock if not still. Haven't seen squat from Federal anywhere for a long time. Edit: My mistake, it was CCI LP mag primers they did/do have.

Graf's has been able to get my Federal spp orders filled way faster than 3 other's I order with. I think it was maybe 45 days for my 5K fed spp order.

I also picked up 3K Fed spp from midway when a forum guy said "Midway has Fed now". I got lucky and had them within a week. Midway won't let you backorder, but they will notify you when they have them in stock. If you get to them within a few hours, bingo.

I got mine on 22DEC. I ordered them in SEP. That is about a 4 month wait for me. It seems like a lot of places are getting more and more in stock though. Also, they will ship everything out at once if you ask them to. However, they will not hold items for you until your order is full. For instance, if you order 5000 SP primers and 5000 LP primers and they get a truckload of SP pistol primers, but no LP primers, they will not hold on to the SP primers until the LP primers arrive to fill your order. They will call and let you know when any of your backordered items arrive. You have the option to continue waiting and hoping everything arrives simultaneously or bite a couple hazmat/shipping charges like I did. It is still cheaper than buying locally.

Large order of CCI SPP from Graf's in late April; they arrived early December. I refrained from emailing them more than once to check.

I ordered 5k each of CCI SP, LP and SR primers as well as 8lb jugs of Varget and 4198 on May 1st. Got a call two days ago that my SR primers were in. They had wolf sp and lp also.

Did you take the Wolf primers in place of the CCI SP and LP? I would have to save paying another hazmat fee later. Wolf primers have worked well for me so far.

The latest batches of Wolf primers (at least SP) seem to have some issues. I've had a number of duds that required a 2nd or even a 3rd strike to fire. The key indicator seems to be the color; the latest Wolf primers are silver colored, the earlier, problem-free primers are brass colored.

There's a very active thread over on Brian Enos' forums discussing the issues. Fortunately, Wolf seems to be standing behind their product and is providing refunds for purchases and picking up the tab for shipping them back.

Ordered 5k of Rem SP from Cabela's two weeks ago and received them in a week.

Ordered 5k of Win SP from Powder Valley on April 15th and I am still waiting.

Win SP and Fed SP are very difficult to obtain due to Government Purchases per the Powder Valley crew.

Greetings,

Ordered on 9/28/2009 CCI SP, LP, SPM, LPM and got all of them 3 weeks ago.

The trick is to place an order with different brands and when they will have one or many of those ins tock, they will call you and you can choose what you want.

Grafs, Midway, PowderValley, Wideners they all gave me great service. Don't be shy, be polite and they will serve you well.

Thank you
