Hello,I took my new purchase out to the range to check for reliability. One thing I realized before hand is the slide wouldnt lock back or just barely!I fixed that with a wolf magazine spring. But during the 50rounds I put thru it,the hammer fell into half cock three times when pulling the trigger! It happened to me twice and my buddy that was with me once. The thumb saftey is firm and I made sure it didnt happen from my thumb pressing it up!!!Any Ideas:uhoh:

I had a Colt Mustang a few years ago. It was the worst gun for the money I ever owned. My dealer attempted repairs, also a Colt warranty station, all to no avail. The first box of Winchester ball ammo netted 13/50 jams. The gun was a nightmare as far as reliability!

My suggestion is to get a small Kahr, a mini Glock, or a J frame with an enclosed hammer. From what I've read or experienced 1st hand these go bang when they should and if taken care of should last you a lifetime.

Stay Safe, Pat S

Isaid I think you need a new sear. Send the gun to colt. They should fix it.
My mustang and most mustang's you run across are wonderful little guns.
My is 100 percent reliable. I carry almost every day.
