I got a Beretta 9mm stainless. Had the gun for 10 years and still works like new, since I am very careful cleaning it. But at time passes the magazine clip would not lock the slide when empty.

A friend told me to replace the springs of the magazines, which I did with the WolfSprings. The springs work great, and locks the slide good.

Problem: This is a brand new spring and still I get the problem when I put rounds on it and then unload it by hand to testthe tension. (this is a 15 rnd clip). After the sixth round the spring wouldn't push the rounds up, unless I shake the clip hard to push up the remaining rounds. But this is a brand new spring.

Help would be appreciated,

thanks

Shmackey, I try to give a "lesson" with humor and you make fun of how my dog spells his name:rolleyes: :D

Sorry Dusty I do not own a Baretta and cannot help you.

Back to your regularry scheduled thread....:D

:D

Is this where one inserts " buy _________ brand gun".

See- I didn't say buy a 1911 ;)

Dusty...seriously, and I'm not a expert on anything, I no longer own any Beretta's. Sounds like the follower and spring are not fitted - meaning you are getting a bind. Any burs on follower? Magazine lips ok?

Trust me, people bunch smarter than I can help.

paging Skunk...paging Skunk...we got a Beretta question Sir!!!

Skunk knows....hang on.....Skunk! Where are you??

Are these the factory magazines? Cheap pro mags and others tend to have burrs.

Have you cleaned the inside of the mags? Dirt, carbon, dust, 10 years of collecting maybe?

Are you sure you installed the spring and follower back in correctly? Double check, try it the other way, then check again. Feel around for anything it could hang up on.

Did you accidentally squash the mag? The follower? Does it do it when you are shooting? Maybe when you hand un load the mag, it pushes the lower rounds in a funny way.

I brush it with a toothbrush inside it, but don't see anything that can get it stuck, the springs are brand new....

The edge on the follower that pushes up the slide lock is probably worn buy a new follower and this should stop the problem.

Ok ok,

Is a Magazine and not a clip. Anyways, doesn't anybody had this problem on theirs? If I need to get a new follower where can I go to get it?

thanks,

at least with my 1911, i had a similar problem. this is what i recommend:

soak your mag and follower and spring in your fav cleaner. then swab a light light light light amount of oil on a patch through the insides.
