here and there
I picked up a nice High Standard Flite King K-1200 earlier this year. However, I noticed after its first trip to the range that the magazine tube seemed about 1/8" too short. I did unscrew the the little thingy at the front end that attaches the mag to the barrel when I first received it, just to peek inside. I don't recall any parts dropping on my floor either, so I'm about 99% certain I put all the parts back in.

Since the mag tube looks like its a little short, the front end is wobbly and whatnot, and I can't for the life of me figure out why. Anyone have a suggestions?

Oh and while we're on the subject, anyone know how to disassemble a Flite King? The manuals I've found are none too helpful...

Right, the problem is, there's a little gap between the screwed-in plug and the mag tube. Basically, the mag tube is a little loose, and I can't figure out why. Sorry I can't get a picture, I'm away at school right now.

Sorry, schematics haven't quite helped me, can't find the right manual on the other site. I also have a manual already, but it's for a related model. Either way, I can't figure out why the mag tube is acting a touch short. It sure wasn't that way to begin with...

You mean the action slide spring? According to this manual, it's part #6. The answer would be no.

However, I checked this website, and it seems like the spring is only present in guns from the earlier series. I'm not sure how old mine is. I bought it used, no paperwork or anything, so should I order the spring?

If that particular spring is what I'm missing, do I just install it right in between the receiver and mag tube?

No, I mean the #51 spring that goes in between the mag tube cap (#47) and the mag tube support lug (#45). That spring serves to keep the mag tube butted up tight against the receiver. It's a pretty beefy spring.

Hm, not sure I'm getting how it looks. I understand the diagram, but unless I did something wrong, when i removing the mag cap, it comes of as one solid piece. You have a picture or something?
