Problems with Simply Rugged Chest Pulley System, Crappy Customer Service

Red Cent, I just wanted to say you make some gorgeous looking holsters and belts.. I really like the R1 holster and belt. I like the contrast of the brown and black colors and finish of the leather. Looks ideal for a cowboy/SASS setup. I will eventually be needing a new gun belt and have to keep yours in mind. This is one of the problems I have with losing weight as I buy a nice new gun belt for like $60-80 and then I undergrow it. I love the Galco gun belt I bought, but I slimmed down 10lbs from buying it and now it doesn't fit without me keeping drilling new holes.

I don't know anything about the topic holster rig.

I dealt with Rob when he was still in Alaska.. Very nice guy.
Anyway I had issues with the S.R holster I ordered for my Ruger Alaskan. It's the Sour Dough Pancake if I remember right. I got it not much after the Alaskans came out so it's been awhile back.

I probably should have called them but after reading about their CS I'm glad I didn't. I sent probably 3 or 4 emails addressed to Rob. I'd send a email wait a few days and resend it. I finally gave up. The inside of the holster was rough as a cob.

I've bought allot of holsters since then but I will never buy another S.R.

Here are my experiences with Simply Rugged. The holsters are of good quality of the holsters are quite good haven't had a issue with the 2 Range Masters I have or the pancakes. However IMHO he should have a disclaimer on his site that the Sour Dough Pancake is NOT the best option for skinny folks like myself. If I had known that I would have never wasted my money on holster that I don't even use. The Silver Dollar Pancake on the other hand works as intended. Now to the Range Master's and any other holster he makes with a belt tunnel.

I don't recall anymore if he offered the Range Master series with a belt tunnel larger than 1.75" or not since it has been discontinued. However they were so tight that it was an absolute exercise in futility when I tried to put it on the laminated 1.75" belt that I got from him too. I stuck a 12GA shell in there in hopes of loosening it up some but it still takes about 5 minutes just to route the belt through the tunnel. It also caused me to put a wrinkle in the holster and the tail of the belt when I was trying to put the holster on the belt.

Needless to say I will no longer be doing any business with Simply Rugged. And after reading about his pi$$ poor customer service it only re-enforces that decision.
