My Son ordered a brand new PSE Freak from the local PSE store last Monday, and it came in on Friday. He shot a few shafts at the PSE plant, then brought it over to my house to show me, and to do some shooting, as I have a 100 yds. archery range to practice on. So after only 40 or 50 shafts, he drew back, and when he released the bow locked up. The string went slack, but the compound limbs were at full arc, and all the weight was resting on a small hold down screw/nut that had come loose and back out, was and jammed against the string. It looked like it was going to explode at any second, no doubt about it.
So my Son is furious, this is a brand new top end bow, he dropped well over a grand on it, right out of the manufacturing facility door and into his hands. It should have been flawless, if not perfect. After all, this isn't coming to him second hand from a retail outlet's, or some internet dealer. So now it's after hour and the plant is closed, so he calls every number he can find, and ends up talking to the production / operation manager. The service and attention to the problem was something which exceeds, if not examples the very perception of excellent customer service. This man, who BTW was busy preparing to leave town for a large business conference for PSE, dropped what he was doing, and then asked my Son to meet him any place he wanted, or, he could pick it up from my Son's home if that's more convenient.
If this wasn't enough, he gave my Son a 10% discount, and a dozen arrows of his choice, and today the PSE store manager hand delivered his new bow to his home! This is simply the best customer service and manner of doing business I've ever heard of. PSE is a stand up company, simply the best CS, and they're bows are leading the industry in every area of performance.
So about the Freak, all I can say is, if your looking for the best, look no further than the PSE Freak! Not only is it a 350 fps bow, but it's extremely quiet, and like silk to draw back, and it delivers 80% let off. It does have a long ATA, but the riser and limb concept make it necessary to do so, other wise string pinch would be a major issue at a 33" draw length. My Son has struggled to find a bow that actually fit him, and there is little worse than bottoming out every time you draw your bow back. So with his 31.5" draw, the Freak was a no brainer for him.
Tomorrow he'll be coming over to celebrate his 30th Birthday with us, and will be bring his bow with him. I'm gonna set the chrony up and see what this thing really shoots in terms of fps.. I'm expecting to see 350 fps, and I've yet to have a bow shoot the advertised fps, so we'll see. According to PSE, the way the bow is set up for my boy, it should shoot at least 350 fps..
