Mainly aimed for folks familiar with 1911's and/or CZ Compact/P-01/PCR/Compact D's and/or Springfield Armory XD's.
Currently I have a Springfield Armory XD-9, 4" Service Model that I like and I haven't tried carrying it yet but due to the size of the grip I'm afraid it will print under light clothes (t- or dress shirt) and due to an unexpected bonus from work I have an opportunity to change my gun if there's any point in it.
On to the question(s):
Which gun, the single stack 1911 or the CZ, do you find easier to conceal?
From what I understand the CZ is overall smaller than a 1911 but the grip may be a bit thicker, right (thin cocobolo grips might help?)? But a full size or commander size (or Dan Wesson Bobtail-type gun) 1911 has a longer grip, right?
So which gun is more concealable, a commander size 1911/Dan Wesson Bobtail or a CZ Compact (or P-01/PCR)?
My method of carry would be IWB.
How would you rate either, the CZ Compact or the 1911 Commander size against a Springfield Armory XD-9, 4" Service Model? Is either, the CZ or the 1911, easier to conceal than the XD?
I've gathered the CZ has a shorter grip (=easier to conceal) since it holds only 14 rounds compared to the 16 of the XD but what about the single stack 1911 holding 7 x .45ACP?
Thank you in advance, all info would be greatly appreciated.
Oh, PS. Does anybody know of a single stack 1911 in 9x19? Or basically any single stack 9mm's that are not sub compacts (roughly the size of a 4" 1911 or a CZ Compact)?
