As I understand it, Nevada is an open carry state. There is no state law that prohibits you from carrying an exposed handgun in your holster. If it's tucked under your shirt you need a CCW however.

So, if my 1911 is outside my shirt in view in my hip holster and I walk town Las Vegas Blvd or Freemont St or any other public street would there be any criminal charge I would possibility face? Or would a police hassle be all but I'd be on my way??? Can I really walk down a public street with my gun with no CCW?

All I know about them is that they are more restrictive.

The Clark County (and, thus, Las Vegas) additional restrictions (handgun registration requirement) only applies to Clark County Residents who have been residents for longer than 60 days.

I have open carried and concealed carried through out Clark County.

No criminal charges.

You will be contacted by the LVMPD. Depending on your attitude, it can be a 5 min stop to a 1-2 hour detention. The ACLU of NV has been investigating the longer detentions as possible civil rights violations.

Yes, you can.

However...
The LVMPD strongly recommends that you do not open carry where all the tourists are at (ie. the Strip/Fremont St/malls/casinos/etc.). Reason is that many tourists visiting Las Vegas are from other countries and some of those countries do not allow their subjects to legally own/possess a firearm. So, those tourists will contact the police with a "man with a gun" call. Which results in a contact with LVMPD.

Scared toursits don't spend money. Which makes the casinos unhappy. They in turn express their displeasure to the city/county government. Which in turn expresses their concern to the Clark County Sheriff. Who in turns makes LVMPD policy.

So, don't make a scene and open carry where the tourists are at.
Instead, conceal carry.
NV is a shall issue CCW state and they do issue non-resident CCW permits.
NV also recognizes CCW permits from other states that match NV's criteria.
