what's the best way to apply this stuff?? too much and it dries sticky, but it seems like even a tiny amount is 'too much'. I tried dipping a small paintbrush in it and very lightly wiping down the entire gun, but I think it's still too much - it's already taken 4 hours, and it's still hasn't dried :eek:! am I doing something wrong??

thanks for your help!

I believe your supposed to leave it on for about 30 minutes or so, and then wipe the parts down with a clean rag. Most of the time, I just spray all the parts after they have been cleaned and let them sit a little while, then wipe them off and reassemble. I run a wet patch down the bore and then a dry one when I wipe the rest off.

I usually spray my wipe down rags with it too, so everything is usually getting a light coat.

I just wet a cleaning patch and rub, then leave a few hours to dry. Any excess left at that point just wipe off with a clean rag. I confess I always add small amount of oil to rails also, before reassembly, but just a little. One of the advantages of Eezox is that your CCW is virtually dry, and that's especially good for a gun carried in the front pocket.

Nope... you're OK.

4 hours+ is really nothing to be concerned with, as I routinely give it overnight or 24 hours to cure. The real secret here is patience and to use a 2nd coat for maximum protection. I've used it on both blued and parkerized surfaces with nothing more than a soaked patch and something to work it into tighter areas. A brush may hold on to too much formula after it's soaked in the juice, so be sure to spread it about as best you can.

Also suggested is to use a cheapo microfiber cloth to clean off the excess after each cure. Again - don't be in a rush.

You'll love it!

thanks! I guess I'm a little nervous since I've never used a 'dry lube' before. from what I hear, this stuff is great, but I still haven't gotten used to the idea of wiping off all excess before reassembling. I was always raised to believe that doing so was a cardinal sin with gun cleaning. do you only use eezox for cleaning/lubrication, or do you still rely on a good quality grease or oil to finish up?

I use a Q-tip, and don't worry if it doesn't dry in internal parts. I will wipe excessive off of the outside, since I don't want dust dried to the surface. If that doesn't work, they make it in a spray can.

After I clean each weapon, I use Eezox applied to a wool mop on the bore;
and a clean rag elsewhere. If I'm storing the gun for any length of time, I
don't worry too much 'bout a light coat being too much. However, if its to
be used as a CCW piece immediately; I wipe off all excess with another
clean cloth, load the weapon and continue 'bout my business~! :scrutiny: ;) :D

But, I'm having a hard time breaking the "Break Free" habit~!
