I was wondering if anyone knew of a quick detach scope mount that allows you to reattach the scope without re-zeroing.

I have searched around (both on google and on THR) and all I have been able to find are systems that let you detach to scope in case of scope failure or damage to use the BUIS, but I am looking for one that I can break down for storage and transport without having to re-zero every time.

It will be for use on an NEF handi rifle (survivor model, actually) if that matters.

Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

I have Warne QD rings on Warne mounts, on a Weatherby boltie. Great mounts and rings. Go right back to zero, at least hunting rifle zero. If you have a 0.25 MOA benchrest target or varmint gun, forget about QD's. But for a 1 MOA rifle, the rings are as accurate as the rifle is.

The rings are compatible with a Handi-Rifle's scope mount AFAIK.

I agree with ArmedBear, QD mounts work well on hunting rifles.

All of mine have back up irons. I use three different types of QD mounts now, and all 3 work pretty well:

I’ve got a set of Warne mounts on a Rem MOD 7 in .350 Rem with a Swarovski 1.25-4X 30mm that work extremely well, even with the little rifle’s recoil. They’re a little slower to remove and mount than my others, but they do hold zero 100%.

I also have a set of Leopold QD rings bases on a Rem 700 in .300 Win Mag. These were the cheapest mounts I found, but really hold zero very well.

I’ve also got two sets of Steyr QD mounts on my Steyrs that are hand fit, but won’t help you.

My other QD is a rail system with a Larue mount.

The original quick release rings were designed by the late great Leonard Brownell, a similar version was introduced by the original Kimber company. (before bankruptcy) These would return the scope back to zero every time....have half a dozen sets of these on various guns, sometimes you can find them at gun shows. Not cheap but first rate quality.

The closest thing to the original Kimbers are the Dave Talley rings.....excellent quality.

Warne makes two lines of rings, good and better. Their best are the maxima series. Here's some pictures

Burris and Leupold both make Weaver style QD rings. I have both, and both work as advertised. The Leupold are far more substantive, but cost about $20 more.

I have them on three hunting rifles that are also equipped with iron sites. A pre-64 270, Rem 700 .300 RUM and a Rem 700 .416 . I have had no trouble with any of them. I did some testing, particuarly with the 300 and 270 by sighting in, removing the scope during transportation to and from the range. reattaching, shooting. I did this at least 5-6 times with each rifle. The zero stayed close enough to where if I would have turned the adjustment one click it would have been too much.
