Quick price/value check?

Hey, I'm sorry if this is the wrong venue for this, but I wasn't sure where else to put it, so...

Anyway, I'm about to pick up a Kel-Tec P11, with one of the .40 conversion kits on it (if I'm not mistaken, they marketed this as the not-too-originally-named "P40?"), and I'm just trying to get an estimate of what this gun is worth, for insurance purposes and personal interest.

I know they don't make the kits, anymore, and I've heard several people in the area express a desire to get one, if they only could...but does that interest actually translate into anything tangible, as far as dollars and cents go?

And so I ask you, the knowledgeable and well-versed populous of THR...gimme an idea what this sucker's worth, huh?

The .40 kit for the P-11 rarely worked reliably and was discontinued. I'd insist on shooting it first unless its being thrown in for free to sweeten the deal on the 9mm P-11.

New 9mm P-11 run about $240 around here. IMHO the .40 kit brings little or no extra value unless you can shoot it before buying to verify function.

www.ktog.org would be the place to go to try and sell or get a price estimate for the .40 kit.

Well, I went ahead with the trade this morning...traded off my Regulator Birdshead .45, about 50 rounds, and 100 once-fired brass to a coworker and friend. In return, got the Kel-Tec (which I've shot before, and never had any mechanical problems with, btw, lucky me!), two magazines (with extensions), and about three HUNDRED rounds of brand-spankin'-new .40 S&W hollowpoints!! I also got a couple boxes of reloads that he had "lying around", since this was his only .40...

Why do I feel like I cheated him?!?

Oh, well, gonna head down to the local shop this afternoon to get a Hogue grip and a belt clip for it... *sings the "Yay! I got a new carry gun!" song*
