Well today was a good day hunting.. Went out about 3:00 this afternoon and was going to try to call some yotes.. Had the fox pro out and called about 15 minutes each in 2 different spots with nothing coming in.. Decided to Hike all the way to the top of the hill that I was near, Came right into a herd of cows with cow bells so I figured I had no chance in hell at calling anything in.

So I got almost to the top of the hill and had to shoe away about 3 curious cows.. I did that by getting out my mouth call, They got the hell out of there fast after that..lol,,, I was tired from the hike and thought I would sit right where I was at and practice my Mouth call skills..Still had my backpack on and everything..lol

Blew the call for about 2 minutes on and off and I saw a yote come out from under a tree about 90 yards off and behind it about 10 yards and 20 feet to it's right was what I thought was another yote at first.. Figured I would take the closer one first, threw the rifle up on the shooting sticks and popped her, she was turned about 15 degrees and looking back wards when I took the shot. Round went in chest and out behind and below the her right front leg.

I was surprised when the second one never moved a muscle.. So I got up and walked a little closer to it and I thought "that sure looks like a cat.. I had a bobcat tag on me so what the heck.. He never moved what so ever, racked one in the chamber, got him in the scope and popped him from a standing position, got him dead on from the front with no exit I can find.. Drop and flopped 2 all with in about 20 seconds of each other..

I was using my Savage 10 predator in 223 with hornady 55grain Vmax , Predator university, tt-extreme mouth call

I could not hardly believe they came in together like that.. Heck I would have thought they would be chasing each other..lol first time for me for sure..

That cat is awesome looking! What is it exactly?

I would have that thing mounted standing, snarling and looking like it's about to pounce, and set it right on top of my safe.

I've killed about a dozen bobcats while deer hunting and only 2 have had spots on their backs .. usually just their bellies. Is it a regional thing or just individual genetics?

Can`t believe you guys shootin puppy dogs & kitty cats...............LOL, you need 2 more to make a nice pair of moc`s............

Excellent work dude!
Did it make it more satisfying to pull them in with a mouth call?
I haven't pulled the pin and bought an electronic call yet. I understand how effective they are, but something about fooling them yourself still gets me all excited.
I honestly would have expected the damage on the bobcat to me much more severe.

Honestly, Myself, I have always had better luck with mouth calls.. It is more satisfying for sure..

You know, I've found it's just about equally satisfying either way for me. I like it a little better with a mouth call, but it's still fun sitting behind a Foxpro. I have ~equal success with each, and I use both. Some stands I mix it up, some I use one or the other.

WOW! That is one crazy hunt! Very exciting and dang sure one of the more interesting things I've heard of on a predator hunt.

Cats and dogs running together...could be a sign of the apacolypse!

careful trying to make a bobcat mount look more scary than he actually is. many come out looking like a cat that just got a bath or something. mine is a full mount, but closed jaw and on the prowl, just like when i shot him.

nice hunt.

Funny I can shoot coyotes all day long but kitty cats not so much...(Unless they start killing chickens I guess.)
Nice shot though.
Congrats. :)
