Looks like 7.7x65r Japanese for there navy for vickers and Lewis guns, which is 303. British think it's a tracer to. But being 1941 and the dl I think it's Canadian made.
According to David A. Cushman , headstamps of the .303 British calibre service ammunition round , which I just found by googling , DC is Dominion cartridge , of Canada and G mark 4 Z is tracer , loaded with cordite , Canadian pattern .
Japanese Marines had Lewis guns. I don't know if they were bought or slavishly copied to be in .303. It would seem not a lot of trouble to make them in either of the 7.7s.
