My family and a friends family are going on vacation to Beaver lake Arkanasas and are staying in Rogers. My friend is a memeber of this board and I thought what better time for us to hit the range and maybe take the kids than vacation. So if any of know of a range, outdoor preferably in, or around Rogers that you like let me know please. Thanks in advance.

You're in luck! Hobbs State Park on Beaver Lake has an outdoor shooting range located within the park. It is an outdoor, unsupervised range that is open daily (Mondays are closed for cleanup) until 7pm.

To get there, drive east out of Rogers, AR on highway 12. Immediately after the intersection with highway 303, you will see the entrance to the range on your right. The drive down to the range from the entrance is another 3/4 of a mile.

Here is a Google showing where the range is located:

By the way, if you are taking the kids, I would recommend going during the week, before 5. The place will be much less busy then. Being an unsupervised range, I prefer less people out there when my kids are along and weekends there can get pretty busy.

Hobbs is ok, but you can't use certain targets. They tend to get a little uppity if you want to set out your own cardboard boxes to shoot at. The closest target holders are at either 20 or 25 yards (don't remember which). And it will be HOT down in the hole where they have it.

There is a very nice indoor range in Springdale. Just a few short miles south of Rogers. Take 540 to the Springdale/Tonitown exit. Turn back to the west, go about 2 miles and Ozark Sportsman Supply will be on your right. Great guys, nice range, and pretty decent gun store to boot. Range opens at noon. Runs to 7 every night but Monday when they have league night. It closes substantially sooner on Mondays.

I agree with what JR1 has said. If you are wanting to shoot pistols, then Hobbs probably isn't the place, as 25 yards is the closest target you can shoot at.

Ozark Sportsman's Supply is great for pistol shooting. They have an indoor rifle range as well, but I have never used it because of how short it is.

Yep Used Hobbs for a while now.

Here is the info on their web site:

The entry road is located near the intersection of State Highways 12 and 303. The shooting range accommodates target stands at distances of 25, 50, 75 and 100 yards. Five covered shooting stations are provided including one barrier-free station. The recently rebuilt range has a concrete floor and a metal trap to catch fired rounds. Shooters are required to provide their own targets (paper or cardboard only) and clothes pins (wooden only) for affixing targets to the stands. The range is open Tuesday through Sunday each week at 8:00am and closes at 7:00pm during Daylight Savings and 5:00pm the remainder of the year.
