I made it out to the range today. It was cold and windy, but the last 30 minutes the wind calmed a bit and I got some good shooting In. I was at the 200 yd line with my M96 Swedish Mauser (Scoped). I only got it sighted in, and there are some things left to do. But I'm happy witht the progress. I bought this rifle, from someone who began to modify it. I completed the work and have been tinkering with it for a year or so.

The best 5 shot group was 4.5" at 200yds, but I was still making adjustments. I ran out of ammo, but I saved the last shot for a try at the bullseye, and was able to do put it in it. I wish I had 4 more rounds to finish a proper group, but it is showing promise. :)

I was shooting from a front sandbag rest (no rear rest), Prvi Partisan soft point 139 grain, 6.5x55 / 200yds. Cross wind at 15 mph (Per weather forecast, see flag pic) I just realized I cut out the 5th round from the top of the target pic. The hits above the target are the 4.5" group. The hits to the bottom are a 3 round group. The center hit, was the final round. I still have more adjustments to make but was working them down. I would have loved to have another box of ammo on hand! But you have to pace yourself, and I'm sure the wind was still pushing them a little anyway. :uhoh:

That is very good shooting. Does nobody any good to shoot in perfect conditions. Days like this separate the men from the boys. A true mark of a good marksmen. At least you know you can put meat on the table if you had to. Good range report.
