RC German Mauser K98 worth?

The one I found at the local gun store was a S/147, it had the capture screws, cleaning rod, sight hood, the Nazi symbols where a little faded but not bad. I got that one for $375. So I would not go much past $400 for a good RC and like what the others said, stay far away from Mitchel Mauser.:barf:

If you are looking for a good example of the Mauser design and contemplating spending $450, may I suggest looking into a BRNO manufactured Persian Mauser. They can still be had in almost new condition and are beautiful rifles. As for $450 on an RC, it would be top dollar, but if you inspected it and saw that everything was in very good shape the extra money may warrant the lack of headaches in the future. Remember also that online gun prices don't include shipping and FFL transfer fees. By the way my favorite Mauser to shoot is a Cherry's import marked Yugo 48. It doesn't have the pedigree of some of the other Mausers, but its smooth and accurate. Good luck in your endeavors.
