STEP 1 CLOSE DRAIN PLUG

Now that we have done that here is the scoop. It is TOTELLY awesome!! I setup my ChargeMaster per instructions plus a video I watched online, well maybe only the video I watched online. I had everything ready to rock and roll and began pouring in my powder, Duh, the drain was open and immediately starting filling up the dispenser cap I had accidentally but strategically placed under the drain. I quickly shut off the drain and looked down at my dog who had that, “You Dumba$$” look on his face. Get this, I actually justified myself to him by explaining I was testing the drain plug!

Other than that it worked great for my first batch.

I've made the same mistake, and I figure so has everyone else that owns one. But the tool really is great.

+999 on close drain plug.

I forgot to close it after my first try of dumping powder.

The verbage to use is Yosemite Sam's phrase

Raga, saga fraggits.

Bigblack, I am having a little trouble with my Chargemaster and I suspect I may have a mains adapter with the wrong output voltage.
Could you help by posting the output voltage on the label on yours?
Thanks,
Charles

Well "Made in China"

(+) "Outside of plug is nedative, post is positive"

Just finished some 223 and I love this thing. Will just throw my pistol charges with my Lee Auto Disk, not shooting for the same accuracy I am with my rifles

+8 on "CLOSE DRAIN PLUG" - LOL

I am beginning to think the boys in the RCBS factory are putting them in the boxes like that on purpose. I found mine open when I first got it as well but I caught it before I poured powder in the hopper.

I leave that drain open all the time! I drain it back into the bottle and tip it to get what is in the tube, set the pan back on it, turn it off and.....curse the next time I refill it.I am going to make a label or something to remind me to shut it!

LOL - I get educated everytime I'm over in Newbury. There's still a few that I haven't been able to figure out but this is a polite forum. :)

So, you visit Newbury - well, that's the gnat's knackers!

You are just down the frog & toad from me - why not drop in in for a natter and a bacon buttie?

We could discuss the linguistic divide!

If you don't have time, give it the Spanish archer.

All the best,

Charles

I'll shoot you a PM next time I'm scheduled for a visit! :) (Nothing on the calendar right now . .but it just takes one hot customer to call me back to mecca. :) )

Have a good one,
Dave

Just a tip on the ChargeMaster I'll pass along that I picked-up in one forum or the other. If you take a large diameter drinking straw like they give you at McDonald's cut to about an inch or a bit more and insert it in the dispenser pipe with perhaps a 1/16 or an 1/8 inch sticking out, you will find that you will have far fewer overcharges in any given loading session. By overcharges, I mean the last few granules of powder that sometimes get pushed out by the screw thread in the dispenser and give you one or two more tenths over your selected weight. You can tape the straw to stay in place if you'd like. It's a bear sometimes to fish it out of the pipe if it gets pushed up inside.

LOL.. Yep, I'm in the "Left the drain open" club also! :banghead: :cuss:

I'm happy with the Chargemaster 1500 Combo. The only thing I don't like about it is when I have small charges under 10 grains, it dispenses the powder very slowly at trickle speed, which is not fun if you have to load 50 rounds of 9mm. That's why I use my manual RCBS powder measure for reloading 9mm and .45 ACP rounds.
