I've had a 3 surgeries to the same eye and now need to re-work a couple of my rifles. I have a lever action in 45 colt that I can probably keep but have to find some lighter loads to shoot. I have another lever gun in 35 remington that probably will have to be replaced
My question is this -- can you guys suggest a rifle I can hunt with but still not worry about the recoil?

From what platform? I was thinking something maybe semi auto w/ a nice gas assist to absorb the recoil -- what say you?

I just figured you would want a lever gun, but possibly a .243 in an autoloader, off the top of my head I can't think of any small caliber "hunting" autoloaders that I would call good, maybe someone else will chime in. :)

EDIT: Thought of one...with the help of Vern...the venerable Browning BAR chambered in .243 would be a excellent choice low on recoil. The added weight will help also.
