Really stupid notion... maybe... maybe not

Most of the Highroaders are currently disgusted with the current situation of 2A infringments and so many other bliss ninny "solutions".

What if we decided to take the concept of the free state program to the next level and all of us moved to a newly made small country and basically made true liberty a fact of life. So many us of have so many skills that we could be a self sufficient society and no other country in their right minds would dare attempt an invaision.

I do realize that this a pipe dream, but this very country was founded by people who were fed up with the system of control that oppressed them.

If you could actually go where your freedom was a certainty, would you go there?

Me? In a heartbeat!

Freedom is never a certainty. There is a reason oppressed people strive to come to the US instead of China or even the UK. Our system is one of checks and balances to preserve freedom. The scale can be tipping either way, but it never falls completely.

Having lived abroad, I can say this without reservation. The US system of government is good. Many US citizens are not deserving of it. Many people who are oppressed in other countries are deserving. Sometimes I think it would be beneficial to make 1:1 trades.

Such things have been discussed. It never comes together in practice, for many many reasons. Very few countries are intentionally created. A country doesn't become a country unless some other country sort of sponsors it.

Even the FSP is having a very hard time getting people to move to either NH or Wyoming.
