I recently aquired a Hi-Standard Supermatic Citation Military. It is the one with the rear sight mounted to the frame stradeling the slide. The problem is the rear sight blade is missing. I checked with Numrich for a replacement but the blade was out of stock, But the entire rear sight was available for less than the parts to repair the existing one. My plan was to just remove the blade from the new one and install it on the old one. Problem 1, it appears the pivot pin that holds the blade in place is a press fit with the center section being larger than the holes on either side!
On to plan B. I would just remove the old sight and replace it with the new one. Problem 2 the rear sight is held onto the frame with three roll pins one from each side and one from the back, but all three are into blind holes no way to drift them out! In addition there is a larger two piece pin that appears to telescope into each other with the roll pin from the rear locking them in place.
Any ideas on how to repair would be appreciated
