Hi again.

I like my socks. A couple years ago I got fed up with matching socks after doing laundry, and went to the department store and got lots of three pair packs of Towncraft Acrylic Blend Cushion. They're comfy and I can wear them in all weather. I thought I would never have to think about socks again.

But they do not work well with an ankle holster. Their blend (80% acrylic, 19% nylon, 1% spandex) makes them a bit slippy. More significantly, for some reason the inside of my ankle becomes a moist, matted, itchy mess after several few hours with the ankle holster on.

Can anyone recommend an inexpensive brand/make of dress socks that work well with an ankle holster? Slightly thick is preferable.

Also, does a higher quality ankle holster help? I currently have the Galco Cop, but I know fancier ones are out there. I've never seen one designed for breathability.

(The Galco Cop model fits very nice, by the way. I can wear it bicycling or swing dancing as easily as when walking around the office or synagogue.)

Try putting the holster on first, then pull your sock up over the outside of the holster. Not over the top and cover the gun, just up to the top on the gun side and over the top of the band on the opposite side of your leg from the gun. Any sock will work as long as the sock is long enough.

Try using black cotton/elastic socks; mid calf length. I get away wearing them instead of dress socks. They may be more comfortable and stable. You can find them at most big box stores. Most people don't pay too much attention to socks. Also, some folks take another old black sock cut in half (remove foot/ankle part) and pull over the holster.
