Question: Does anyone reload 9mm Luger in 124 gr. FMJ. I have a friend who reloads 9mm for 125 gr. with cast lead bullet's and he uses red dot for the load.
I've been loading lots of Promo, which uses Red Dot data by weight, in 9MM. I'm using 124/125 grain Plated mostly. I'll see what info I can find for FMJ.
Alliant data PDF file that shows Red Dot with 9mm 125gr jacketed and others. Use the 125gr data for the 124 gr bullets. Loads listed are maximum. Start loads should be calculated by reducing the listed max load by 10% (.9 x listed load = start load)
Here are data for 124 gr bullet and Promo which you can reference for 124 gr FMJ and Red Dot (Note: Red Dot/Promo meters with .2+ gr and 16" carbine barrel adds about 200 fps to pistol barrel velocities) - http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?p=10339029#post10339029
