I've just installed a Lyman/Redfield receiver peep sight on a Stevens 22LR that was my father's, that I first learned to shoot with. I say Lyman/Redfield because the it is cobbled together with the base from Lyman and a Redfield elevation vernier slider. I need a higher front globe, which I've just ordered and will have in a couple days.
I want to move the windage scale a bit and want to know the thread size for the screw that mounts the scale to the front of the receiver. I have the screw, which mics as a #1 but does not fit either the 64 or 72 tpi holes on my thread checker plate. What I need is to know the tpi of the screw so I can try to find a tap.
I could just use a standard #1 screw, but have not found one that "looks" right.
