Congratulations Carbon_15, at least you won't be held hostage by the ammo shortage. You'll enjoy that personal satisfaction of being able to choose your own load.
Good luck.
I found the 380 cases to be a little more difficult to work with...very soft and easy to crush. Once you get the hang of it, it goes quickly. Not many boxes to break even...even if it wasn't the money, you almost need to do it for the availability
at a buck a shot for h-p's (some are selling fmj for that) it doesn't take long to add up.
Mike at mastercast in Carbondale, Ill makes a good .380acp rn cast slug.
It has been 3 weeks since my 1 year anniversary of an order of 9mm bullets placed with Mike at Mastercast.com.
I'll just wait another week or so and buy some .380 from Montana Bullet Co. with their THR discount. Looks like the ship the next day. Not the next year (or more?).
Congrats. At the gun show over the weekend I saw a guy spend $70 for 40 rounds of gold dot ammo. And that was an afterthought, he had just bought a whole bag of ammo from the guy, and was like oh let me get 2 more boxes of those gold dots. He was going to use it as range fodder in his new bersa 380. Even the salesperson with the outrageous prices grimmaced when he heard the news. My point is that you will be happy to be able to afford to shoot your LCP! Good job.
Man, they are really thin. I had to re-align my Lee after crushing a few. They were catching the lip of the die's. Apparently the turrent can get off center. All is well now though.
I crushed a few when I first started to load the 380 also. If you don't pay close attention on a progressive it is easy to do. I broke several decapping pins and even bent one decapping stem. Thanks RCBS for the free replacementw.
