Hi folks,
I've started reloading 380 acp. I know I read somewhere that 380 has a short case-life. I did a search but couldn't find the applicable thread. Is this true? How many times can I reload these little buggers?

I've never found enough of the little boooges to really know.

Yeah, I know they're small, but my gun is so awsome that it ejects empties into a shotglass that I place strategically to my right. I'm lying again. The internet makes me do it. I find about 2/3.

Thanks for the replies. I'll use um till I lose um (unless they crack or something).

Been reloading .380acp for 2 years, and haven't had a case failure yet. And yes, I've lost enough of them to doubt I'll ever know how many loadings they'll take.

by the time the case develops splits the rim & primer pocket will take such a beating that you likely will load the beat-up cases for 'shoot&scoot' practice and won't mind leaving them lay. at least that's what I do. must drive the 'range rats' crazy after they scrounge the beat-up cases:eek:

I can never find all of mine either. I shoot the .380 mostly indoors and they must have some weird substance on the floor because my.380 cases all turn into 9mm (or on rare occasion .32) after bouncing on the floor.

I'll shoot 100 of the .380 and all I can find are about 50 of them, 40 9mm cases and a couple of .32

Weird!

I hate when that happens. I think that finding out how many time a .380 case can be reloaded is like trying to find out how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop. The world may never know. I am lucky to find 75-80% of my empties. My Llama IIIA ejects the cases to the right and with my mild reloads they usually don't go far. Now if I could only keep the range gremlins from changing them to 9mm or .32.
