Reloading for the M1A - why the warning?

Well I think all this talk about primers is moot. I cannot find anything except Wolf primers in stock anywhere. CCI primers are non-existent. Midway, Natchez, Powder Valley ALL OUT OF STOCK, NO BACKORDER. I have some Fed Match that took me 6 months to find for the 308 bolt gun and can find nothing else to use for the M1a. Does anyone have data on the Wolf primers ? I see that Wolf 223 primers, sr, and sr mag primers are in stock almost everywhere. But without data I hesitate on buying enough to make the haz-mat fees worth while.

For what it may be worth I have used Wolf LR and LR magnum on 30 06 in a Garand and LP in several 45's. They are a trifle oversized and a bit stiff to seat but I am happy.

They do go bang consistently and my accuracy is just as good as when I could get brands like Federal and Winchester. Assuming the price difference remains when the shortage eases, I will probably continue using Wolf.

And a quick gas gun story. Had a cop friend who was heart broken. He was an avid handloader and bought a Desert Eagle 357 but it would eat only factory loads. The gas system would not cycle with handloads.

We tried everything and then hit on precisely resizing the cases after each use and seating 158 gr jacketed bullets right down to far end of cannelure with a bit of taper crimp. Cycled every time.

Yes, gas guns can be persnickety.
