oh yeah, they have become very popular once again, since there is new made ammo for these again. the tube fed I think is much rarer, only like 7000 made, and also I think it is usually the more accurate, though I cannot explain that one. 2 years ago, you could get one for 100 bucks, but ammo was 75 bucks a box. Now the new ammo is 15 bucks a box, but the rifles are 300 plus!!!
also, some new mfgrs of rifles are to be made; taurus and rossi are allready making the revolvers, thompson/ center has been making the bbls for 30 years, but I am waiting on the complete rifles made by cz, or savage.
the 5mm mag round makes the 22 mag, and the 17hmr, look like a rifle that shoots CB's. Basically , it has the ballistics and trajectory of the 17, but with 3 times the energy from the muzzle, all the way out to 200 yds.
Truly if they start making the new rifles, and supposedly there is allready newer hotter loaded rounds; a 32 or 35 grainer leaving the muzzle at 2500 fps, this will revolutionize rimfire. In other words, this will be like firing a handloaded/downloaded 204 ruger, instead of leaving the muzzle at 3700 to 4000 fps, these will fire the same bullets at 2500plus fps.
will give you serious p-dog capability all the way out to 200 plus yards.
