I'm buying one in .308 for what i've found to be an unbeatable price. How far should I expect it to be accurate out to with it's 20in heavy barrel? I could also use some scope recommendations. Thanks
This is on my christmas list. Accuracy has been exceptional with every example i have seen. Snipercentral did a review on it and had it shooting .473 MOA if i remember correctly. For around $500thats awesome. Kind of wish the barrel could be a little bit longer but oh well. Still debating over .308 or .223. Leaning towards .223 because if i get an AR 15 i can share ammo between them.
i just took mine out last weekend for the first time, my best grouping was right at 1" with factory winchester soft points. im working up loads right now so i can cloverleaf too.
It'll shoot accurately well past 500yds if you do your part.
Check out Super Sniper scopes, very good scopes for the money. http://www.supersniper.com/
i bought one over the summer and i am very happy with it. i zero at 200yds . the gun does very well. i have shot a deer two coyotes and a muskrat no misses yet deer and rat were right at 200 coyotes about 150 i plan on shooting alot of jack rabbits with it so some 300 n 400 yds shots are not far off good luck
it is a remington 700, a proven rifle on a proven action, you will be good to go, as far as what ranges you will be accurate at that is up to you to collect the dope for the rifle.
Mine routinely shot between .5-.75 MOA at 100 yd with Fed GMM in either 168 or 175. When I took it out to 200 and it opened up a bit, but I blame that on my relative inexperience at the time with reading wind. I had a Bushell Platinum on top for glass, worked great for a range/fun gun.
