Remington 740 30-06

I have a cherry 740 in 30-06 dating back to 1955. What bullet and powder combos would you suggest?

My bolt gun likes IMR 4350 and a 165g Nosler BT but it isn't too good in the 740, so I ordered some IMR 4064 and some 150g SP and SPBT to try.

What is your experience with a 30-06 autoloader? Bullet and powder preferences?

Don't know much about the 740 action, but Garands like a bit faster powder. I wouldn't go slower than the 4064 you've ordered. I personally like H4895 in the .30-'06, and that's a bit faster. I also like the plain-jane Hornady 150gr SP, (#3031). Shoots well in most rifles, and in my long-gone .30-30 Contender barrel. Wish I could find a good deal on them. The last batch I bought (2k) cost ALMOST $8.00/hundred, and I'm running low.
