Remington 870 Express SM recoil pad

I recently bought a express supermagnum and was thinking that I might want to switch out the recoil pad in the future. I was thinking about the Remington supercell pad. there are two versions offered sythetic or wood. the supermagnum has a laminate stock so which option works best for it. also any other opinions on recoil pads that are cheap and can be self installed or tips installing the supercell ( looks pretty straight forward)

In my experience, you'd be hard pressed to find a better recoil pad than the Supercell. They flat WORK!

The best thing to put on a shotgun is a good recoil pad. I am assuming that since laminate is still wood that the wood version will work best . Installation is straight forward, if any problems youtube is your friend.

I've put LimbSaver pads on all my Mossies and Remingtons. They take the sting out of heavy (2 oz) turkey loads.

I put a Supercell pad on my 870 a few years ago and love it. Really takes the bite out 3" slugs; had no issues even when shooting from a bench.Only problem I had were the screw holes were a good 1/4" off. Had a bear of a time trying to put it on.
